As reported in the "Times (or Sunday Times) of Malta"

'Contents of a Ditty Box 2005'
Pages 5 and 12 of the Sunday Times of Malta 2nd December 1945
These pages evolved following an e-mail enquiry from Iaian Kerr, grandson of Edward Pearce who 'crossed the bar' in 2005. Iaian now had access to the ditty box from which he discovered that Edward had served aboard FANCY, from 8th October 1943 to 14thOctober 1945, joining her as a Stoker 2nd Class and leaving as an Acting/Leading Stoker. This, and the dilapidated condition of the accompanying newspaper articles, whetted his appetite to learn more. Similar interests were evoked here, particularly after it was found that access to the archives of the "Times of Malta" were available on subscription. To this end, Richard Richardson, ALBACORE and ex-Secretary of the Association, generously donated a 30 day subscription which created the opportunity for the research, from which these articles are transcripts.
