Annual Field of Remembrance St Margaret's Westminster Abbey 2007 |
This takes place each November on the Thursday preceding the annual parade at the Cenotaph.
The late Arthur Perry (Spanker, Waterwitch), used to perform this duty but in later years it has been carried out by your Ships Visits, Museums & Sea Cadets Officer, Robin Allum (Bramble). |

Top picture sets the scene. The Algerine plot is in line with the downpipe to the right of the porch. The black crosses represent each of the wartime and early peace time flotilla's. The lower right picture 'blows up' the the Algerine badge and clearly shows we were plot 229 St Margaret's has a special significance for Roger, his great grandfather was baptised there. |
